Memory Check-Ups
Similar to periodic physical check-ups with a primary care physician, the memory check-up serves to document memory functioning and establish a baseline for future reference in older adults. These brief
evaluations determine memory abilities in a more comprehensive way than would be the case in a physician’s office, but do not involve as extensive an assessment of cognitive skills as would be the case with a comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation. After the memory check-up, Dr. Randolph schedules a follow-up appointment to discuss his findings and recommendations.
